Chaiyarat Club For The Conservation Of Ancient Muay Thai

Chaiyarat Club & Baan Chang Thai

The Chaiyarat Club

Many years ago, when Kru Thong-Law Ya-Lae was an active fighter in the ring (using the fighting name of Thong Cheua Chaiya) he was learning Muay Thai Chaiya from Phramarjan Kaet  at Ajarn Kaet's Cheua Chaiya camp.

After winning many fights, and learning a great deal from Ajarn Kaet, Kru Thong decided to open his own school, and asked Ajarn Kaet permission to do so. Ajarn Kaet gave him permission to do this, and gave the name for the school as Chaiyarat.

Kru Lek, who had became a student of Kru Thong (after already studying with Pramajarn Kaet) and was already a keen and established artist, created the Chaiyarat logo, which features Kru Thong in the center. Kru Thong accepted this logo as the main symbol representing the Chaiyarat school, and the symbol that represents it's true meaning and teachings.

Baan Chang Thai

After Kru Thong passed away, over 15 years ago, Kru Lek opened Baan Chang Thai to teach the Thai arts that he had learned and loved, including Muay Thai Chaiya. 15 years on, Kru Lek is still teaching and passing on the techniques and strategies of Muay Thai Chaiya to a new generation.

Diligently teaching only the efficient, practical style as it was passed onto him by Ajarn Kaet and Kru Thonglaw, he has resisted the urge to beuatify and weaken the style with fanciful techniques and techniques from other martial arts, which has plagued the current state of Muay Chaiya and other styles of Muay Boran.
